The feed (1) comprises an elongated carrier beam located above the infeed surface (54). A dogging arm (22) is arranged for movement along the carrier beam between first and second terminal positions. Pushers (20) co-act with the dogs (12) to move articles located on the infeed surface to a predetermined position on the blank bottom panel. A drive moves the dogging arm along the beam. The drive comprises mutually spaced guide rolls mounted in the beam. A drive loop extends around the guide. A drive connects the drive loop to the dog. The guides (28) are positioned relative to one another so that the drive loop (32) obtains a curved form so that the dogs will be driven by the loop at a respective smoothly increasing and smoothly decreasing speed upon leaving and entering the terminal positions. |
