PURPOSE:To obtain a secondary battery which can be made small and thin, the capacity of which can be increased and in which no generation of dendrite and gas is caused by using an oxidized body of a specified polynuclear metallic complex as a positive active material and a reduced body of said complex as a negative active material. CONSTITUTION:An oxidized body of a polynuclear metallic cyano complex represented by the general formula MAK[MB(CN)6]l.xH2O is used as a positive active material while a reduced body of a polynuclear metallic cyano complex represented by the above general formula is used as a negative active material. In the above general formula, the symbol MA represents a metallic ion of A valencies; the symbol MB represents a metallic ion of B valencies; k is a positive number between 1 and 4; l is a positive number between 1 and 3; x is an arbitrary positive number including O; an A, B, k and l should satisfy the relationship of AXk=(6-B)Xl. For instance, aa secondary battery is constituted by using Berlin green Fe(III)4[Fe(III)(CN)6]3.3/2SO4<2-> or an oxidized body of Prussian blue Fe(III)4 [Fe(II((CN)6]3 as a positive active material, Everitt's salt K4 Fe(II)4[Fe(II)(CN)6]3 or a reduced body of Prussian blue as a negative active material and 0.5M aqueous potassium sulfate solution of pH 4.0 as electrolyte. |
