A device for the storage of piece goods, especially sugar beet, in a plurality of large-capacity silo chambers (10) arranged next to one another is specified, from which chambers the sugar beet can be conveyed by means of a high pressure water jet (17) which is directed towards the sugar beet by means of a spraying head (18) arranged on the silo chambers (10). Each silo chamber (10) is assigned at least one spraying head (18) of its own. The latter is connected to a high pressure supply pipe (20), each spraying head (18) being accommodated in its own casing (22). Spraying heads (18) of this kind in casings (22) can be provided both on the front wall (13) and on the partition (21) between adjacent silo chambers (10). <IMAGE>
