PURPOSE:To obtain a press capable of performing the expansion and compression formings of a rim simultaneously or almost simultaneously at the same place by incorporating specifically the compression and expansion dies of a wheel rim of motor car. CONSTITUTION:Plural taper surfaces 9 whose upper parts are slanted to the inside are provided in an annular form to the inner periphery of an outside frame 8 fixed onto a vertically moving bed 5 mounted on cylinders 4 on an annular bed 3, and plural membes 10 which are made to expand and contract by the vertical movements of the surfaces 9 are provided to the inside of the surfaces 9. Members 16 which are made to expand and contract by the vertical movement of a taper surface 15 provided to the central part of a space which is surrounded with rim-compressing dies 14 provided to the inner surfaces of the members 10, is provided to said space, and rim-expanding dies 17 are provided to the outer surfaces of the members 16. When a rim 29 is charged into a gap (t) between the dies 14, 17, and the cylinders 4 are actuated to raise the members 10, 16 and the dies 14, 17 from a real-line position to an imaginary-line position, the members 10 and the dies 14 approach with each other. Next, when the cylinder 16' is actuated to raise the surface 15, the outer and inner surfaces of the rim 29 are pressed by the dies 14 and 17 respectively, thereby forming the rim 29 into a prescribed shape. |
