PURPOSE:To contrive to print clearly, by a method wherein a magnetic ink attracted up to a position between magnetic poles is transferred onto a recording paper with a low ink pressure, and the intensity of the magnetic field at a position between the magnetic poles is set to be higher as the position is located farther from an ink tank so that the ink is amply supplied even to needles provided at upper parts. CONSTITUTION:The intensity of the magnetic field at a position between the magnetic poles 19 is set to be higher as the position is located farther from the ink tank 20, or the magnetic resistance between the magnetic poles 19 is varied by varying the cross- sectional area of the magnetic path. In this construction, when an electric current is passed to an ink-attracting coil 16, a magnetic ink 24 contained in the tank 20 is attracted by a magnetic flux generated between the magnetic poles 19 to form a magnetic ink layer along a slit 18, and a tip part of the needle 9 is wetted with the ink 24. Therefore, when a specified electromagnet 7 is excited to cause the needle 9 to fly toward the recording paper 34, the ink 24 adhered to the tip of the needle 9 is brought into contact with the paper 34, thereby forming a dot. In this case, it is sufficient for the tip of the needle 9 to lightly touch the paper 34, no collision sound is generated, and it can be contrived to perform printing clearly. |
