PURPOSE:To facilitate assembly work, by setting a cam shaft, a fuel valve rocker shaft, an intake or exhaust valve rocker shaft and members, which are driven by the former members, on a valve rocker arm chamber member before assembling them on a cylinder head. CONSTITUTION:A cam for driving a unit injector and a cam 17 for driving an intake or exhaust valve 18 are formed on an identical cam shaft 22. The unit injector is driven through a fuel valve rocker arm supported by a fuel valve rocker shaft 16. The intake or exhaust valve 18 is driven through an intake or exhaust valve rocker arm 19 supported by an intake or exhaust valve rocker shaft 20. The cam shaft 22, the fuel valve rocker shaft 16, the intake or exhaust valve rocker shaft 20, the fuel valve rocker arm and the intake or exhaust valve rocker arm 19 are set on a valve rocker arm chamber member 10 before they are mounted on a cylinder head 9. According to this constitution, the assembly work on these members is facilitated and the number of assembly steps is reduced. |
