PURPOSE:To improve responsibility to acceleration of an internal combustion engine by increasing the incremental quantity of fuel to be injected when the engine is accelerated from the fuel-cut-off condition in comparison with the quantity thereof injected when it is accelerated from the constant operation condition. CONSTITUTION:An engine control unit 10 performs fuel injection control such that the incremental quantity of fuel injected when an engine is accelerated from the fuel-cut-off condition is increased in comparison with the quantity thereof to be injected when the engine is accelerated from the constant operating condition. That is, the unit is charged with a routine of varying the incremental quantity of fuel at the acceleration time according to the former condition where a throttle valve 2 was closed fully or not. In other words, the incremental quantity of fuel is varied according to whether or not fuel is cut off with the throttle valve 2 fully closed. When an engine is accelerated from the condition where fuel is cut off, the incremental quantity thereof is additionally increased, whereby providing higher responsibility to acceleration. |
