POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION RESISTANT AGAINST DISCOLORATION BY LIGHT

Disclosed herein is a photo discoloration resistant polyester composition which contains 3 to 50 parts by weight of a brominated cyanuric acid ester compound per 100 parts by weight of polyester, and which also contains either not more than 5 parts by weight of a benzotriazole-type ultaviolet stabilizer per 100 parts by weight of polyester or a glass flame retardant assistant selected from glass fiber and glass flake in an amount of at least 5 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of polyester. The novel composition has strong color fastness to light and excellent antiflammability while also not exuding flame retardants, when present in the composition, in hot surroundings. The composition may be used in molding process as an engineering plastic.
