3-Amidino-benzisothiazole-1,1-dioxides of the formula <IMAGE> wherein R1 and R2 are each C1-C5-alkyl or C2-C5-alkenyl, R3 is hydrogen or methyl, or R1 and R2 together form a C3-C6-alkylene chain which can be interrupted by O, S or NH, or R1 and R3 together are -CH2-CH2-CH2-, and X1 is hydrogen, halogen, C1-C5-alkyl, halo-C1-C5-alkyl or C1-C5-alkoxy. A process for producing these 3-amidino-benzisothiazole-1,1-dioxides and their use for controlling pests are described.
