PURPOSE:To efficiently remove burr or welding draw-down by vertically rotatably supporting a commutator of a rotary electric machine to a frame, and moving a machining device in the prescribed direction to the commutator by a signal from a detector mounted on the frame. CONSTITUTION:A trestle 3 is secured by posts (not shown) to a base 1, and slot machining devices 4, 5 are mounted. A motor 7 and a reduction gear 8 are provided at pits 6 formed at the lower portions of the base 1, and a shaft 10 is rotatably held by a chuck 8 directly coupled to the gear 8. An armature 51 having a commutator 50 is rotatably supported to the shaft 10. A position detector (not shown) such as a photocoupler is mounted on the trestle 3 to detect the position of the commutator, and controls the positions of the devices 4, 5 in response to the output. In this manner, the machining of the slot of the commutator 50 and the removal of the barrier welding draw-down can be automatically executed, thereby efficiently manufacturing a rotary electric machine. |
