A compound of 1,5-disubstituted 1,2,4-triazole-3-carboxamide represented by the general formula; <IMAGE> I wherein R1 is alkyl of one to three carbon atoms, chloro, fluoro, iodo, trifluoromethyl or nitro, R2 is hydrogen, methyl or chloro, R3 is hydrogen or methyl is provided in the invention, which shows an excellent herbicidal activity.
