PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a thermal head and enable to prevent an ink film from being wrinkled, by setting a base surface of the first base provided with a plurality of heating resistors to be higher than that of the second base provided with an integrated circuit. CONSTITUTION:The thermal head 30 comprises the first insulating base 33 provided with a heating resistor row 32 on a heat-radiating base 31 and the second insulating base 34 provided with the integrated circuit 35 for driving the heating resistors, in which the base surface of the first base 33 is set to be higher than that of the second base 34 by about 1mm.. Accordingly, since the spacing between the base 34 and a bottom surface of a recessed part 372 of a protective cover 37 can be restricted to about 0.5mm., the height of the lower end of a guide roller 41 for a transfer film can be set to be not larger than 1mm., an opening part L can be reduced, therefore the base 33 can be reduced in size, and a small-type thermal head 30 can be obtained. In addition, since the roller 41 can be located in proximity to the heating resistor row 32, the ink film can be prevented from being wrinkled. |
