The bi-metal spring is composed of three plates, and located in a special chamber. This chamber is filled with water from the closed system, flowing in through connecting holes. These holes are so positioned and dimensioned that communication between the chamber and the remaining fluid volume is limited, thus maintaining a different temp. in the part volume from the remaining fluid. The bi-metal spring exerts a pressure on the valve spindle so that the valve cone locates against the valve seat, preventing fluid from flowing through. The container limiting the bi-metal space is enclosed by an electrical resistance for heating the fluid in it. (Provisional Basic advised week 85/09) |
