摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the electrostatic charging property and the durability of the static charge by including iron oxide powder in electrically charged charcoal powder and pitch coke powder. SOLUTION: A carbon material electrostatically charged to 5-15 gauss is produced by mixing 30-70wt.% of charcoal powder having an average particle diameter of about 1-1.5mm and 70-30wt.% of pitch coke powder having an average particle diameter of about 0.5-1.5mm with 0.1-2.0wt.% of iron oxide powder mostly having particle diameter of finer than 200 mesh. The amounts of the charcoal powder, pitch coke powder and iron oxide powder are preferably 30-40wt.%, 70-60wt.% and 0.1-2.0wt.%, respectively in the case of a soil improver to promote the growth of a plant. For an embedding material for building construction, a mixture 20 composed of 70-30wt.% of charcoal powder, 30-70wt.% of pitch coke powder and 0.1-2.0wt.% of iron oxide powder is embedded in a layer below a foundation concrete layer 40 and a rubble stone layer 30 of a building 50. The moisture-absorbing apparatus is composed of the electrostatically charged carbon material, a highly air-permeable bag containing the carbon material and a box having aeration through-holes and holding the bag.
