The invention relates to a method for monitoring an electronically controlled wrench or screwdriver for system errors. In known wrenches or screwdrivers, it is decided, by way of preset tolerance ranges in the switching-off time, whether a screwing operation is proceeding properly. Since system errors can not be taken into consideration with these decision criteria, it is proposed to introduce a third quantity, which changes with the screwing operation, as monitoring signal with an assigned tolerance range. At least at the switching-off time of the wrench or screwdriver, checks are made as to whether the signals lie within, below or above the tolerance ranges and, by way of a comparison of the comparison results against one another, it is established whether the screwing operation is proceeding properly and/or whether system errors are present. |
