<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to discharge hydrogen from a metal hydride with quick response by utilizing combustion heat generated in a pulse combustor. CONSTITUTION:By actuating a spark plug 8, combustion is forced to take place in a combustion chamber 1 supplied with the fuel and combustion air. Once the combustion cycle is formed, even though the spark plug stops its actuation, the fuel and combustion air are sucked through a valve mechanism 7 automatically, afterward the pulse combustion will continue with constant frequency due to self-ignition. The generated heat in the pulse combustor is mainly transmitted to the walls of the combustion chamber 1, exhaust pipe 2 and cushion chamber 3, therefore, the metal hydride distributed on those heat transfer external surfaces can be heated up.</p> |
