PREPARATION:A sulfoxide shown by the formula III [R4 is (substituted) lower alkyl] is reacted with a mercaptan (reactive derivative) shown by the formula IV(R2' is amino-protecting group) is an inert solvent such as preferably DMF, etc. at -20--40 deg.C to give a beta-lactam compound shown by the formula V, which is deprotected. |
