PURPOSE:To make the control of vertical overlapping of print dot at a required amount possible, by a construction wherein the dot print head is rotated in the plane parallel to the platen. CONSTITUTION:Respectively 24 pieces of hammers are provided along two lines of parallel printing element series 14 and 16 by a distance K to the print head H. The printing element series 14 and 16 of hammers make a large acute angle theta as to the movement direction of record member. For example, in the case of print head of theta being 84.6 deg., the printing element series 14 print the first and second lines and the printing element (a) series 10 print the third and fourth lines. If the density of dot in the movement direction of print medium is desired to be increased two times, the first head is rotated so that the angle becomes 87.3 deg.. As the result, each printing element series of hammer can take charge of only one line vertically, and the first pass can print the first and third lines and the second pass can print the second and fourth lines. |
