PURPOSE:To perform excellent running guidance, by turning and displaying road maps so that the advancing direction of a vehicle is made to agree with the upper side of a display means, thereby obtaining the display, which matches the running of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:Map data, in which map coordinate information with a specified position as an original point is given with respect to each point of a map, is stored in map data memory demium (e) in advance. In a control means (d), a setting means (f), a judging means (g), and a switching means (h) are provided. When a road map is switched and displayed on the display means (c), the means (f) sets reference angle regions on both right and left sides of the advancing direction. The means (g) judges whether the advancing direction is deviated from the reference angle regions or not. When the deviation is judged, the map coordinate information on the memory demium (e) is changed to information corresponding to the advancing direction. The means (h) switches the new road map, wherein the present position is the center and the advancing direction agrees with the upper part, and displays it on the means (c). Therefore, as the vehicle runs, the present position mark moves upward, and the excellent running guidance can be performed. |
