PURPOSE:To ensure a high sealing capacity in a captioned device to use a single piston ring for a pressure ring by shaping it to close a fitting part gap by a projection when the piston ring is pushed to the upper and lower faces of a ring groove. CONSTITUTION:On the upper side of a front rim of one end part 12a among a pair of ring end parts 12a and 12b faced to each other with a fitting part gap 2 of a piston ring 11 between, a gained part 13a with a triangular section is provided, while on the other end part 12b, a projected part 14b shaped to fill the gained part 13a is provided. Similarly, a gained part 13b is also provided on the lower side of the front rim of the ring end part 12b, while a projected part 14a is provided on the end part 12a faced thereto. In this construction, when the piston ring 11 is pushed to the upper face of a ring groove 6, the projected part 14b on the upper side of the front rim is seated on the upper face of the ring groove 6 to separate the side of a crank chamber and the fitting part gap 2 from a combustion chamber space. This process is the same in a suction stroke. |
