PURPOSE:To shorten a retrieving time by separating a magnetic tape to the parts to use as a data recording part, the recording position of each data at said data recording part and a part where the file name, etc. respectively. CONSTITUTION:An address part 2 is set at the head part of the magnetic tape of a cassette tape, and a data part 3 is set succeedingly to the part 2. A series of data D1-Dn are recorded at the part 3 in keeping proper intervals to each other. While the information d1-dn showing head positions of data D1-Dn are recorded to head position memory areas C1-Cn along with file names f1- fn of data D1-Dn are recorded to file name memory areas F1-Fn succeeding to the corresponding areas C1-Cn respectively of the part 2. As a result, the unnecessary time for reproduction of data until the desired data in a reproduction mode is eliminated. In such a way, the retrieval of data at a high speed is attained. |
