The invention relates to an accelerometer comprising a base 1 and an annular vibrating mass 5 resting via a plane surface 5a on a piezoelectric element 4 which is carried, by means of an insulating washer 2, by a plane surface 1c belonging to the base 1. A fastening column 1e integral with the base 1, passes through the mass 5 and holds it by a prestressed elastic element 7 compressed by a nut 8. An insulating sleeve 17 centres the element 4, the washer 2 and the mass 5 around the column 1e. <IMAGE>
