Racks with shelves which can be adjusted when loaded are known. The shelves cannot be raised by the stacker without auxiliary means. The invention envisages designing the shelves to be adjustable when loaded as pallets, by providing the shelves with feet. These can be either fixed or attachable. In the latter case, it is possible to use the system in the old way without feet or in the new way with feet. These systems permit greater flexibility, the bay system is cheaper and handling is much simpler.
