The invention relates to an engine casing for internal combustion engines, which comprises a crankcase, a timing gear case and a flywheel housing. According to the invention the crankcase (2) is integral with a first part (4) of the timing gear case (3), whilst the second part (5) of the timing gear case (3) is integral with the flywheel housing (6). That half of the housing formed by the second part (5) of the timing gear case (3) and the flywheel housing (6) has integrally cast fittings for the attachment of auxiliary units.
