In a motor home having a bed which is arranged in the region of the driver's cab, can be put up for driving in a position under the roof panel of the basic vehicle, consists of a rigid support plate and an upholstered rest and is suspended on the vehicle roof in a vertically adjustable fashion via carrying and support parts, it is proposed for the purpose, on the one hand, of facilitating the accommodation of the bed in a driver's cab having a relatively small basic area and, on the other hand, of simplifying the suspension and assembly of the bed, that the rigid support plate carrying the bed is pivoted to the vehicle roof above the upper edge of the windscreen so that it can swivel about a horizontal axis extending at right angles to the driving direction, and is configured so that it can be pulled out in two parts. In this arrangement, the rigid support plate has a bend at a distance from its pivoting axis and extending parallel thereto, and is provided in the region where it is pivoted to the basic vehicle with a swivelling auxililary spring which at least partially compensates its weight. <IMAGE>
