The bearings, especially of rollers, are often arranged in shafts and/or housings with tapered circumferential and bore surfaces. So that the space existing here is better utilised and the bearings achieve a higher load bearing capacity, the rollers are provided with larger diameters from row to row or from pair of rows to pair of rows approximately according to the increase in the space resulting from the tapered surfaces.
