A device for masking a thermosetting part (10), leaving essentially clear the border (10a) with a view to treatment to prevent the formation of porosity in the border. The device consists of a mask (30) of which the surface (30b) facing the part (10) is bordered by a joint (31) positioned set back from the edge (30a) of the mask. The mask overhangs (30c) the joint and overhangs the region (10b) between border to be treated and the rest of the part. Also claimed is the treatment process in that after masking the part the border is treated by electrostatic application of a preparation powder (20) to form an anti-porosity coating. The thickness of the coating continuously reduces in the area (10b) under the overhang of the mask, becoming zero at the joint (31).
