<p>The present invention relates to an artificial crystalline lens (1) for the eye comprising one or more lenses (2), wherein one at least of said lenses is made of a photochromic material. This photochromic material is capable of selectively attenuating different spectra of light radiation and is characterised by a slow and irreversible yellowing that is similar to that of a patient's natural crystalline lens. The photochromic glass of the present invention comprises the following elements in wt.%: from 58 to 62 % of SiO2; from 18 to 20 % of B2O3; from 8 to 12 % of Al2O3; from 8 to 12 % of Na2O; from 0,1 to 0,35 % of CuCl2; and from 0,01 to 0,6 % of AgCl. The CuCl2 and AgCl form together micro-crystals having a size between 100 and 150 Å.</p> |
