PURPOSE:To provide an expandable coating material which can be expanded easily and safely by heating to give an uneven coated surface, consisting of a thermally expandable, resin compsn. contg. a solvent, a binder, fine thermoplastic particles contg. a chemical blowing agent and an infrared absorber. CONSTITUTION:1pt.wt. fine thermoplastic resin particle (e.g. polyacrylonitrile) contg. a heat-decomposable org. or inorg. blowing agent (e.g. azodicarbonamide), a binder (e.g. acrylic emulsion) and 0.5-2pts.wt. infrared absorber (e.g. carbon black) are dissolved or dispersed in a solvent (e.g. water). Optionally, non- bleeding color pigment, extender pigment, stabilizer, etc., are added thereto to obtain the title expandable coating material composed of a thermally resin compsn. |
