The pivotable couch is designed for use by invalids with immobility of the hip or knee joints. Access may be gained whilst upright, controls enabling it to pivot into a horizontal repose position or any other position in between. It may be mounted on rollers with locking at rest effected by the lowering of jack-operated stands. - Articulated joints are provided at knee, hip and neck level if required. Rotation about the main pivot and at all other joints may again be effected by hydraulic jacks, a control box being used to house an electric motor with battery and charger together with hydraulic tanks, pressure-regulators, distributors and control relays etc. An arm-rest with table top may be included.
