A capacitor constituted of a pair of electrodes and a dielectric provided between the electrodes, wherein one of the electrodes is made of sintered niobium nitride. Preferably, the dielectric is made of niobium oxide, and the other electrode is made of a compound selected from an electrolyte solution, an organic semiconductor and an inorganic semiconductor. This capacitor exhibits excellent environmental stability and satisfactory leakage current characteristic.
