Isocyanates are prepared by thermal decomposition of oxalic acid ester amides at not less than 300 DEG C. The isocyanates obtainable by the process of the invention are valuable starting materials for the preparation of crop protection agents, pesticides, dyes, synthetic resins, plastics, textile waterproofing agents, detergents and adhesives. |
