A relaxed brain function is characterised by a reduction in the frequency of the alpha brain wave. This device produces audio signals with a modulation frquency which reduces from 14 Hz to 5Hz over a period of minutes, to induce relaxation. The normal frquency range of alpha waves is approximately 8 to 13Hz. When the user has put on the earphones and pressed the rest switch, a sawtooth waveform generator produces a voltage which gradually changes from a negative to a positive value.
