The present invention relates to a novel apparatus for joining tubes. This apparatus is characterised in that it comprises a rigid support cage which carries a pair of fixed internal flanges 4-5 which receive centring bars 14-15, and a pair of intermediate flanges 7-8 which can move in relation to the internal flanges 4-5, which intermediate flanges are connected to the said centring bars by means of links (connecting rods) 11 or the like.
