The fuel is characterised in that it consists of a mixture of pieces of natural wood in which: - on the one hand woods of chosen species are mixed in defined proportions so as to combine their respective qualities in respect of calorific power, ability to produce fast lighting, ability to be maintained as embers as long as possible, and - on the other hand, the said pieces of wood are graded as a function of their role in the mixture, so as to produce both the general effect of the mixture and the individual effect sought after by contributing to the mixture each of the woods specified above. Application to the fuel industry and more particularly to products for a grill.
