This method consists in overmoulding onto the tang 4 a tenon 6 made from a synthetic material, in introducing this tenon 6 into a housing 8 of dimensions and shapes corresponding to its own, formed in at least a part, made of synthetic material 7, of the handle, and in making a tenon/handle join by ultrasonic welding affecting solely the synthetic materials of this tenon and the walls of the housing 8. It can be used for joining any tool including a tang to any hollow handle whether or not this handle is made of synthetic material. <IMAGE>
