Process for the preparation of novel 5-aroyl-1,2-dihydro-3H-pyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrrole-1-carboxylic acids

Novel carboxylic acids of the formula <IMAGE> are prepared as the racemate or in the (l) form by hydrolysis of the corresponding salts. In formula A, R denotes hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl and R1 denotes hydrogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy or fluorine, chlorine or bromine. The compounds can be used as antiphlogistics, analgesics, fibrinolytics and muscle relaxants in therapy.
