PURPOSE:To obtain a color image exact in the position by laminating an insulating layer having >=2 colors, and independent electrode groups corresponding to each color to form an image bearing body, arranging stylus electrode groups as opposed to said body, applying voltage to both groups to form an electrostatic latent image, and developing it with a light nontransmitting toner. CONSTITUTION:Groups of electrodes E1-E3 are repeatedly arranged, and on each electrode E1-E3, each of red, green, and blue insulating body C1-C3 is laminated to form an image bearing body 1. The body 1 forms an endless belt, and stylus electrode groups 3 are arranged as opposed to the endless belt image carrier 1 moved with a roller 2. In the case of displaying e.g. red, when +300V is applied only to the group E2, and OV is applied to the other groups, and -300V is applied only to the group 3 selected in accordance with the red image signal, and OV is applied to the other electrodes, a negative electrostatic pattern is produced only on C2. Likewise, when an electrostatic pattern is formed on the C3, and developed 4 with a light nontransmitting toner, a red image is formed at the exact position. |
