MAGNETIC HEAD FOR MAIN MAGNETIC POLE ENERGIZING VERTICAL MAGNETIC RECORDING

PURPOSE:To prevent the reduction of a core magnetic field due to an annealing treatment by providing a magnetic thin film serving as a main magnetic pole to a nonmagnetic matter. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic coil 4 is provided to a groove 9 of an approximately E-shaped core 5 consisting of a center foot 5a and side feet 5b and 5c. A guard matter 6 is made of a nonmagnetic member containing a magnetic thin film 7 serving as a main magnetic pole which is set vertically to the upper surface of the foot 5a and at the part of the foot 5a. Such a matter 6 is welded onto the core 5. Thus the core 5 is connected to the film 7 on the upper surface of the foot 5a. Unlike a conventional case, no evil effect is given to the magnetic performance of the component parts owing to an annealing treatment since the film 7 is provided to the matter 6. Furthermore the magnetic resistance can be reduced by increasing the area of the junction part between the film 7 and the core 5.
