PURPOSE:To improve the charge-and-discharge efficiency of an organic battery and extend its life by coating metallic supporting electrodes for supporting an electrode active material consisting of an organic polymer with a conductive polymer. CONSTITUTION:In an organic battery in which a conductive organic polymer such as a polyacetylene film 1 is used as an eletrode active material, a conductive polymer such as polypyrrole is electrolytically polymerized with the surfaces of a positive and a negative metallic supporting electrodes 2 and 3, which are made of Ni or the like and support the active material, to synthesize conductive polymer films 4. According to the organic battery of this structure, ions migrating in electrolyte 7 exchange charges on the polypyrrole films 4 thereby inhibiting elution of metals contained in the electrodes 2 and 3 into the electrolyte 7. In addition, since ions contained in the electrolyte 7 work as a dopant for polypyrrole, they can not be decomposed on the electrodes 2 and 3. |
