PURPOSE:To reduce the number of wires such as a lead wire, etc. to be connected to a measuring instrument board by loading a microcomputer and a driving circuit on one extended part of a glass substrate for constituting an outside frame of a liquid crystal display element. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 10 and a driving circuit 14 are loaded on one extended part of a glass substrate for constituting an outside frame of a liquid crystal display element. Also, on the main surface of the substrate 161, a display area is formed on one area obtained by dividing said surface into two. According to such a structure, the number of wires between the display part and the circuit is reduced extremely, and accordingly, the cost is reduced and the reliability is raised.
