NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I [A<1> is group of formula II or III(U<1> and U<2> are H, halogen, methyl, methoxy or ethoxy); X<1> is H, (alkoxy)alkyl, aryloxyalkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, halogen, etc.; R is H or (alkoxy)alkyl; Z<1>-Z<3> are H, halogen, alkoxy, cyano, OH, etc.]. EXAMPLE:The compound of formula IV. USE:Red or blue colorant for plastics, etc. and intermediate of dyes and pigments. It has high affinity to hydrophobic material, and suitable for the coloring or dyeing of liquid crystals, synthetic resins such as PS, or polyester fibers. PREPARATION:The objective compound can be prepared e.g. by heating the compound of formula V together with tetracyanoethylene in an organic solvent such as DMF.
