PURPOSE:To reduce the variations of output level without giving damage to a recording medium by attaching a glassy carbon matter having the self-lubricity at the tip of an auxiliary magnetic pole to press said carbon matter to the surface of the magnetic recording medium and securing a contact with a fixed level of pressure between the tip of a main magnetic pole and the magnetic surface of the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic recording medium 12 is pressed downward by a glassy carbon matter 10 provided at the tip of an auxiliary magnetic pole 8, and the lower surface of the medium 12 is pressed to the tip of a main magnetic pole. The matter 10 is adhered to the tip of the pole 8 with an adhesive or a glass bonding process or reduced to the tip of the pole 8 by a sputtering process. In such a constitution, the matter 10 attached to the tip of the pole 8 is pressed to the medium 12 by a spring member 11 and therefore the magnetic surface of the medium 12 has a contact with the tip of the main magnetic pole in a record/reproduction mode. Thus no malformation is produced to the surface of the medium 12, and a fixed level of contact pressure is secured between the head and the medium 12 despite a shift of the head given in the radius direction of a disk medium. This reduces the level variations of the record/ reproduction output. |
