PURPOSE:To provide a material changing process that does not reduce the rate of operation in spite of many kinds of material and is suitable for small quantities with many qualities by making a heating cylinder device specialize material change at a preset location outside a molding macine. CONSTITUTION:A heating cylinder device A used in the former production is removed from a molding machine to fix said heating cylinder device A to a material changing device B. Electric power is supplied to a heater 3 to heat the heating cylinder device A. Then, material to be changed for next process is supplied into the heating cylinder 1 and the material is changed by the drive of a screw 5 or a plunger. Then, the slug C that has been discharged is cooled by a cooler, hardened and stored. When the former material has been changed to the new material a material supplier, a driving device 11, a conveyor device 19, a crushing and storing device 18 are stopped. Then, the heating cylinder device A is post-heated so that the heating cylinder device A is removed from the material changing device B at the next production time and set to the molding machine.
