PURPOSE:To provide a compound membrane for gas separation, pervaporation, and a support for a heat resistant membrane by impregnating a silicone resin soln. in an woven fabric made of heat resistant fiber curing, and then decomposing by heating. CONSTITUTION:The silicone resin is the substance which is known as silicone varnish, and a glass fiber, a metallic fiber, or a carbon fiber are used as the heat resistant fiber. The silicone resin soln. is impregnated into the heat resistant fiber. The silicone resin soln. is impregnated into the heat resistant woven fabric or nonwoven fabric, and cured. After the silicon resin is cured, the cured resin is decomposed by heating at a temp. higher than the curing temp. thereof to obtain the silicon resin compound permeable membrane. The heating decomposition temperature is favorable up to 150-500 deg.C. The permeation velocity is increased remarkably by decomposing by heating at a temp. higher than the curing temp. of the silicone resin.
