PURPOSE:To obtain economically the water having a specified quality by supplying an adsorbent into an adsorption apparatus and discharging the water in association with the quality of the original water. CONSTITUTION:The flow rate and quality of the original water 11 to be supplied into a treating tower 1, such as an ultraviolet absorption rate (UV) and COD, are measured, and the value is inputted to a controller 16 such as a computer. And the amt. of an adsorbent necessary for making the present original water into the treated water having a specified quality is calculated in the controller from the specified quality of the treated water such as COD value, and the time of the exchange or removal of the adsorbent is also calculated. The calculated result is sent into a control 16b of the controller 16 which controls the supply of the new adsrobent at constant time intervals and the discharge of the adsorbent in the treating tower by an amt. almost identical with the supply.
