PURPOSE:To improve machining work efficiency and to reduce meterial cost, by a method wherein an oil passage is formed by a pipe which is cast-molded integrally with a lifter retainer member. CONSTITUTION:The lubricating oil feeder of a valve operating mechanism has a cam shaft, a valve lifter 25, a guide hole 23A, and a lifter retainer member 23. An oil passage 23B is formed by a pipe which is cast-molded integrally with the lifter retainer member 23, and the pipe is of the same material as that of the lifter retainer member. Lubricating oil is fed by pressure in the oil passage 23B with the aid of an oil pump, and lubricating oil is supplied to a slide portion, such as the valve lifter 25, a locker arm 26, a cam shaft 22, through each passage. This eliminates drilling process made on the oil passage, enables improvement of working efficiency, and also permits reduction of material cost. |
