PURPOSE:To apply smoothly and uniformly a coating material by driving a transfer conveyor which transfers containers in a linear direction and a driving belt and coating belt positioned on both sides thereof at different speeds. CONSTITUTION:The speeds of a transfer conveyor 2, a driving belt 3 and a coating belt 5 are made different like, for example, 50m/sec, 100m/sec and 40m/sec, respectively. Then the containers on the conveyor 2 are linearly moved by the transfer conveyor and are given rotating motion by contacting with the belt 3 and stationary guides 4 provided to face said belt on the side opposite thereform. A coating material is applied on the prescribed part of the containers 1 when the belt 5 contacts with the rotating containers 1.
