<p>PURPOSE:To reduce a deformation of a magnet due to an operation hysteresis and make the magnet produce a higher magnetic field and improve a life by a method wherein a main body of the magnet is solidly tightened along its laminating direction by tightening insulation bolts and nuts. CONSTITUTION:A main body of a water cooled magnet is held between an upper tightening jig 11 and a lower tightening jig 10 as shown in the figure and an upper surface of the jig 11 is pressed by pushing down a piston rod 12. With this process, the main body of the magnet is compressed along the direction of the lamination of coil conductors 1 and insulating sheets 2. When the pressure is relieved by moving the piston rod 12 upward, a lamination thickness is increased a little but if the pressure is applied again the thickness returns to the original compressed dimension quickly. It is recommended that coupling of tightening insulation bolts 5 and nuts 6 is performed during the pressure application. Therefore, by compressing the magnet for a prescribed time, the magnet can experience a surface pressure higher than an electromagnetic compression stress given to the magnet during the normal operation of the magnet.</p> |
