PURPOSE:To purify accurately the sewage by providing the primary separation tank which is separated into a preceding tank for settling or floating larger dirt and a succeeding tank for receiving water and smaller dirt, and the secondary tank provided with a dehydrating basket and a revolving agitating blade. CONSTITUTION:The larger dirt having smaller sp.gr. than water is floated and stored in a preceding tank 5 in the primary separation tank 1, not transferred to the secondary separation tank 2, and retained in the preceding tank 5 by a filter 4. The larger dirt in the preceding tank 5 is removed periodically by a vacuum car, etc. The water, after passing through the filter 4, and the smaller dirt are supplied into a dehydrating basket 9 in the secondary separation tank 2. An eddy current is caused by a revolving agitatng blade 10 in the dehydrating basket 9, and the water alone, except for minute dirt, is removed to the outside of the dehydrating basket 9 through the small holes of the dehydrating basket 9. The smaller dirt is retained in the dehydrating basket 9.
